花菖蒲
5月5日は端午の節句です。昔からこの日に菖蒲の葉を身につけたり、飾る習慣がありました。今でも菖蒲湯を楽しむ風習がありますね。菖蒲と葉がよく似ている花菖蒲は端午の節句を彩る花としてぴったりだと思います。
技術的には固定するのがとても難しい花で、皆さん四苦八苦していました。この時期だけの花なので1、2回稽古してまた次は来年ということになります。そのため、上手にいけらるようになるのは長い時間がかかります。毎年うまくいかずにやきもきするものですが、そうして苦労するのもまた楽しいものです。
May 5 is Boy’s Festival in Japan.Since ancient times, there has been a custom to wear or display Shobu’s leaves on this day.Even today, we enjoy Shobuyu (Floating Shobu’s leaves in the bath). Hanashobu is a different species from Shobu, but their leaves are very similar.
So, Hanashobu is often used to decorate Boy’s Festival.It is a very difficult flower to fix, and everyone struggled with it. Since these flowers are only used during this season, we can practice once or twice a year.Therefore, it takes a long time to become good at arranging Hanashobul. Every year we are frustrated because we struggle with Hanashobu. But it is also fun to challenge.
